Volunteer Opportunities
Conflict Mediation Services of Downsview (CMS-D) is a community-based not-for-profit organization that identifies its strength from its most valuable resource, its volunteers. Our volunteers give us the capacity to deliver all of our programs and to continually explore new ways to help us meet our mission and vision to resolve conflict peacefully in order to create a safe and healthy community.
There are a number of ways that individuals can volunteer to positively contribute to both CMS-D and to the community. These opportunities include:
- Board of Directors
- Staff and Board Committees
- Office administration
- Bingo
- Mediation
- Community outreach
- Special Projects
- Private Information Court assistance
- Internships
- Student placements
- Special Events
- Youth volunteer pool
- Youth Advisory committee
We look to provide both a personally and professionally enriching experience for each of our volunteers with their commitment to the organization. Diversity in age, gender, language, culture, life experience and work experience are some of the different qualities that represent our volunteers. The relationship as a volunteer with CMS-D is supported through the process identified with each program responsible for it.
